_{General description:}

_{Nimh is a gypsy vanner. She has a relatively long and thick neck, deep girth and round curve from her back to her rather big bum. Her legs are fairly long and lean decorated with very large and soft feathers. Nimh’s head is slightly curved on the nose and wide on the forehead. Her coat is steel grey with dapples and white streaking over it all. She has a long, thick mane and tail that is beautiful multi-color in all colors between white and dark grey. Her eyes are lavenderish light blue with long lashes.}

_{Voice description:}

_{Slightly rasping and deep, raw voice with a certain feminine touch. Out of celebrities, her voice reminds most like Pink.}

_Beliefs:

_{Nimh is not religious. She considers it a mere fact that unicorns existed and then disappeared. She doesn’t consider it something that would make a difference in her life as it is now and she doesn’t think the beliefs of long-dead unicorns should deeply affect the life and traditions of the horses currently residing in the islands. She has no hostility towards religious horses, but doesn’t sway on her opinion either.

_Confident

_{Nimh believes that at the end of the day the only one she can truly and whole-heartedly trust is herself. She has true confidence in herself which allows her to remain calm even at the bleakest moment, should the situation so require. This is definitely the most enticing thing about her and her best attribute. She will not falter or let others crawl under her skin, which might at times make her appear very tough.}

_Caring

_{While Nimh may have trust-issues and a tough shell, she has a heart of gold. She is underneath all the toughness very warm and caring and would go to any lengths for the ones she truly considers close to her. At first she might seem distant, but once you get to know her she is definitely a giver, not a taker. She can be absolutely tireless when it comes to her loved ones. One part of her believes in true love and the other one is convinced that the only one who will ever love her the way she deserves is herself – she is either all in or not at all. She could, however, never leave someone in need without help, she is overall very bad at turning a blind eye which sometimes battles against her Loner status and their Fourth Sacrament.}

_Indomitable

_{With the toughness comes a certain type of stubbornness. Nimh will never, ever give up when she sets her mind on something. This is a trait that cannot be threatened or beaten out of her; she is simply unable of giving up. One could say it’s about her ego, but whatever it is might sometimes seem even obsessive behavior. She is very bad at admitting to being wrong and has oftentimes got herself to a very deep end of the pool just because she didn’t feel like she could let go. Nimh is not one to shy away from battles either, and can be somewhat of a freight train. For a mare she is quite a skilled fighter and her opponent should be prepared to fight until either party is on their knees and can go no further. Even though Nimh will go until the bloody end if necessary, she is one to heavily believe in the ideology of “live and let live”.}

_Restless

_{Nimh is moving from one place to another all the time; she seems to never stay in one area for prolonged times. Her Loner life is of course partly to blame, but wandering around endlessly is also a big part of her nature. She often needs some alone-time and while she craves for close contact with other horses, she will feel anxious if she is forced to stay in anyone’s company for too long. Nimh is a free soul and will not take kindly to anyone limiting her freedom.}

_Impulsive

_{Nimh has a bit of a temper and struggles to keep it in from time to time. She tends to make very quick decisions and have a very hard time to go back on them even if direly necessary. Her impulsive side comes to surface especially when angry, irritated or scared, but is overall visible in her behavior. Generally Nimh is very bad at dealing and especially hiding strong emotions and she often operates on a very emotional level. Her impulsiveness can cause her to spit out some frogs from her mouth or get into things very quickly. She is very excitable at times and tends to get into situations head first and with a full steam ahead -mentality.}  

_Tomboy

_{While Nimh knows how to appear feminine and flirt, her true self is much more of a tomboy by nature. She is not worried about getting dirty and is down to things on an earthy level. If she is not trying to get her game on, she is most often regarded as “one of the guys”.  This comes with seeing genders on a very equal level, it doesn’t matter to Nimh if her friends or love affairs are mares or stallions.}

_Curious

_{Nimh’s need for information and curiosity is on a whole another level. She can’t help putting her head into everything and can often be seen eavesdropping or observing others. She has gotten fairly good at it and she will not easily reveal herself. She gathers information out of feeling the need to know as much about everything as possible, she considers this her own “freedom policy”. There are no secrets from Nimh, as long as she can do something about it.}

 

 

History

_Foalhood:

_{Nimh’s dam, Solena, was a Loner as well. Nimh was conceived during a Bachelor herd raid. Solena was supposed to be taken into the herd and made a slave, but for a very short moment Nimh’s soon to be dad felt sorry for the trembling and bruised mare with the brightest of blue eyes he had ever seen. As he was supposed to be standing at guard during the night, he quietly turned his back while the mare broke free. He did turn back just to watch her as she got farther away. Nimh’s father was severely punished for letting their loot go, and when interrogated about it he kept insisting he had fallen asleep. He persevered his herd’s rage, even though he could never fully explain even to himself why it had felt so important to him that the mare would not come to harm’s way. He did not, however, ever find his blue-eyed mare again. Or if he did, the story does not tell…}

_{Nimh grew up constantly moving around. Solena was almost neurotic about keeping on the move and avoided all of the herds like plague. A couple of Solena’s friends had had foals around the same time and Nimh was allowed to play and spar with the lively colts from time to time – if they were not neurotically roaming about. This was a great contradiction in Nimh’s life: while all her play friends were of the opposite gender, her dam was very strict about avoiding adult stallions and Nimh had no father figure growing up. This affects her even to this day to a point. Her looks on genders and gender equality are a bit of skewed and she doesn’t treat either gender any different. It took her a while to realize what the big whoop was even about.}

  

_Adolescence:

_{As soon as Nimh was old enough she wanted to try out her wings in life and face all of the new adventures. Being a Loner foal in the war torn islands made her wisen up very early on. Her dam had always been very strict about safety and Nimh did produce quite the rebellious streak, and got herself to multiple silly and even dangerous situations. She soon realized that the world was not simply just her personal playground and a lot of intelligence and information was needed.}

_{At first Nimh kept going back to her dam on fairly short intervals, until one day she could no longer find Solena anywhere. She looked and searched tirelessly for weeks on end until she came to terms with the fact that she might never find her. Having to tend for herself made her grow up into a more serious invidual and she did learn the ropes of survival soon enough. Even to this day she partially hopes to see her dam one day, but has given up hope. Nimh’s adolescence was full of learning the toughness of life and not being able to always have her own way, which shaped her into the invidual she is today.}

 

_Adulthood:

_{Due to some mishaps and hearbreak there was a moment Nimh was fairly withdrawn and kept to herself. While she now knew that sticking her nose into everyone’s business could get her into difficult situations, she was still increasingly curious over pretty much every matter to go on in the islands. Calling her an adrenalin junkie would be a bit of a far stretch but she did definitely enjoy the excitement of The East Islands and the feeling of avoiding being caught. Her muscles were toned and she had gotten surefooted on all terrains, and she wasn’t really struggling at fleeing from the face of danger, or standing up for herself.}

_{Howver, after almost getting caught and very lively remembering her dam’s fears she smartened up slightly and took a little bit distance. After being told off by Rangers a few times she made it her job to somewhat avoid even her own kind. It became increasingly important for her to be completely free and any authority figure on her path had her bolting the other way.}

_{Nimh’s life tends to go in cycles. At times she will withdraw to herself and focus on just being free, and other times she is drawn to other horses like a moth to flames and her curiosity will take over and she will be poking her nose into affairs until she gets a reminder to not be stupid again. And the merry goes around.}
